Starbreeze’s 2007 shooter The Darkness never had an official PC release, even though The Darkness II reached Windows in 2012. A hobbyist named portingpete has now published The-Darkness-Recomp, a native Windows x64 build of the Xbox 360 version.

The project statically recompiles the 360 executable into C++ and runs it through a Direct3D 11 renderer, so it is not a live emulator. Version 0.1.2 adds 60 FPS, ultrawide, mouse look, a FOV slider, and fixes for Darkness Vision glow, shadows, and high-resolution color tint.

The GitHub download includes no game files. You need your own Xbox 360 copy and 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 with Direct3D 11.

A new PlayStation 5 jailbreak went public on Tuesday, and researcher Lance McDonald said it works on every PS5 except consoles updated in the past week or so. He later confirmed PS5 Pro is included.

Independent reports name the public chain Relapse and say it covers firmware 7.00 through 13.60, past the old 12.70 public ceiling.

Sony shipped system software 26.06-14.00.00 on September 16; that 14.00 build sits outside the new range.

McDonald also said you cannot go online on a console that has not taken the latest firmware.

Jailbreaking still violates PlayStation Network rules and can get an account or console banned.

CD Projekt Red has published the full PC system requirements for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered, a free upgrade that launches on September 29. Minimum settings target 1080p at 30 FPS with a Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, a GTX 1660 or RX 5500 XT, 12GB of RAM, a 60GB SSD, and Windows 11.

Recommended 1080p/60 play needs an i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X, an RTX 2060 Super or RX 6600 XT, and 16GB of RAM. Ultra at 1440p/60 and ray-traced Ultra both list 24GB of RAM, while path tracing at 4K/60 with frame generation asks for an RTX 5080 plus a Core i9-13900K or Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

CD Projekt Red says a GTX 1660 can still pass 60 FPS at minimum settings, and that Windows 10 is no longer officially supported even if the game may still run.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told The Ezra Klein Show on September 23, 2026 that basic math being forgotten may not matter. He said long division, multiplication tables, and square roots are fading, then added, “Does it matter? I don’t think it does.”

The talk cited a China study of about 26,800 students: AI raised homework scores about 18 percent and cut homework time about 30 percent, while closed-book exam scores fell about 20 percent. Huang also said he does not know his own address, ZIP code, or phone number, and that people will lose some “finer intellectual dexterity” but become better systems thinkers.

My opinion: If a civilization stops teaching math, it does not get “new skills.” It loses the tool that lets people check a machine when the machine is wrong. Math is how you spot a bad number, a bad model, and a bad bill. A society that outsources every calculation becomes a passenger. When the model fails, the grid flickers, or the score is fake, nobody left can prove it. Total dependence is not progress. It is the point where humans stop being able to govern their own tools!!!

ILL is a first-person survival horror game from Team Clout and Mundfish Powerhouse, set for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam. NVIDIA launched DLSS 5 on September 3, 2026 for GeForce RTX 50-series cards, but ILL is not on the official support list and the game is not out yet.

Viewers say the clip is existing ILL footage run through a third-party DLSS 5 converter, not native in-game support. Team Clout has not confirmed DLSS 5 for ILL. The game can be wishlisted now on Steam.

Players appear in Bohemia as the game’s own characters, who can ride, fight with synced sword combat, talk over proximity voice, and use a public Basic RP server in Kuttenberg. A shipped duel-arena mode covers PvP, while game modes can be scripted in Lua or C#; the tweet’s “make your own character” line is overstated, since the launcher mainly sets a display name and face, not a full creator.

KCD:MP is still early, with no story or quests, and the team says things will break. It is not made or endorsed by Warhorse Studios. The latest YouTube look at KCD2 multiplayer work is Resonant’s May 2026 video; current beta clips live on the project’s own site.

A PNY GeForce RTX 5090 owner says the company refused a warranty claim after the 12V-2x6 connector melted on both the card and the PSU. Reddit user Melodic_Initial_1767 wrote that the GPU ran stock, with a lowered power limit, on the native cable from an ASRock PG-1600G ATX 3.1 unit, and failed while idle. The emails he posted quote PNY as covering only the 16-pin cable or adapter shipped in the GPU box. Reviewers who checked PNY’s published GeForce warranty (Rev. 02.28.2025) found no such cable rule. The owner says a senior technician then called the denial final and closed the ticket. PNY has not issued a public statement on this case. If you guessed "locate an unused power connector within your system and plug it into the corresponding connector on your graphics card," congratulations, you will also be denied warranty service from PNY, because apparently you have to intuit which cables are approved by PNY, since, as far as we can see, there's no list of approved cables anywhere on PNY's website, nor in the product documentation for its graphics cards. Besides, the card didn't come with a 16-pin cable, so it's not like he could have used PNY's own cable, and the idea that the firm would prefer him to use an "octopus" adapter over a native cable is shaky at best.

I personally have never had the pleasure of dealing with PNY support, but multiple other Redditors in the thread, which is nearing 1,200 replies at this point, have mentioned a history of difficulty getting support from PNY. When asking the company which clause of their warranty policy they are using to deny his warranty request, /u/Melodic_Initial_1767 was apparently told by a "Senior Technician" that the decision is final and that his ticket had been closed.

XDA is recycling a real Intel finding, not a new 2026 hack: USB 3.0 data can spray radio noise into the same 2.4–2.5 GHz band used by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Intel’s April 2012 white paper said that noise can come from a USB 3.0 port, cable, or drive and raise the noise floor when a wireless antenna sits close by.

In one test, plugging in a USB 3.0 hard drive lifted 2.4 GHz noise by nearly 20 dB and made a wireless mouse lag a few feet away.

Better shielding, moving the dongle, using a USB 2.0 port, or jumping to 5 GHz Wi-Fi usually fixes it.

This is RF interference, not malware, and it does not hit every setup the same way.

If your 2.4 GHz link dies only after you plug in a fast USB stick, that old Intel paper is still the reason.

A YouTube clip making the rounds shows a RedMagic Astra 2 tablet keeping pace with a ROG Xbox Ally X in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Tester Dame Tech ran both at 720p High with no frame generation; the tablet sat near 20 watts while the Windows handheld sat near 40 watts.

Frame rates stayed close, then the Astra 2 climbed past 100°C and slowed a bit as the session ran on.

The tablet is running PC games through Android emulation, not a native Windows build, and the Ally X still launched at $999.99.

A quoted post also notes volunteers are putting Valve’s Steam Frame SteamOS ARM userspace onto some Snapdragon handhelds such as the AYN Odin 2.

That community work is real; a $400 “Odin 4” replacing every Ally X is still just a prediction.

Microsoft has paused optional update KB5002907 after some PCs lost a working Office license.

The patch was meant only for Microsoft 365 Apps that were more than 90 days out of date on Current Channel or Monthly Enterprise Channel.

Microsoft now says some Office 2016 and Office 2019 installs showed unexpected results after the update ran.

In some cases Office looks unlicensed and must be reactivated; in rare cases the product is removed and must be reinstalled.

A Microsoft spokesperson told BleepingComputer the company is aware of the reports and paused the rollout while it investigates.

Users who already installed it should use Microsoft’s reactivation or reinstall pages, not another unofficial “fix” tool.

Open-source project Madeira posted a video of Red Dead Redemption 2 running on an iPhone 18 Pro with no PC and no cloud streaming.

Madeira says the latest clip holds 30+ FPS, and the team later noted the game can burst to 60 FPS for about the first 30 seconds before iOS power limits kick in. The stack translates x86-64 Windows code to ARM64 with FEX, maps Windows calls to iOS through Wine, and converts DirectX 12 to Metal with the madeira-d3d12 runtime.

The demo renders at 1408x648 with low graphics settings and ultra textures. This is still an experimental sideloaded research build that needs a JIT debugger, not an App Store app, and GitHub currently lists only lighter titles such as Thumper and ULTRAKILL as playable.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is running at 30+ FPS on an iPhone 18 Pro.

An optional Windows 11 preview update, KB5124010, is being blamed by PC players for crashing Battlefield 6 and some other online games. Microsoft released the non-security preview on 22 September 2026 for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, taking those builds to 26100.9550 and 26200.9550.

Players say Battlefield 6 often closes to the desktop 15 to 30 seconds after launch, with no error on screen. Similar reports hit Wardogs, where Team17 pointed to a WD-L020 error and said uninstalling the update is the current workaround.

An EA forum helper said the reports were passed to developers and suggested rolling back preview updates. Microsoft’s KB page does not list a game-crash known issue, and the patch is optional, so it will not install unless you choose it.

Microsoft has confirmed that recent Windows 11 updates can leave a black screen after sign-in instead of the desktop. The problem started with the August 27, 2026 preview updates - KB5120996 on version 26H1 and KB5120998 on 24H2 and 25H2 - and later cumulative updates can trigger it too.

Microsoft says the failure is seen mainly on Azure Virtual Desktop hosts that use FSLogix, especially with some existing user profiles. Affected users can sign in, but Explorer may crash and the desktop never loads on its own.

Until a permanent fix ships, open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc, choose Run new task, type explorer.exe, and press OK. Microsoft lists the issue as mitigated, not fixed, and is offering a Known Issue Rollback for IT-managed PCs while it prepares a future Windows update.

Publisher SEGA and developer RGG Studio have released a new gameplay video for 50-year action adventure saga STRANGER THAN HEAVEN introducing the game’s show business element.
Show Business is one of the major themes of STRANGER THAN HEAVEN. Protagonist Makoto Daito will find musical inspiration, create songs, promote shows, and more.

STRANGER THAN HEAVEN is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on January 15, 2027. It will also be available via Game Pass.
