I want to sell my iPhone 5S and want to remove all the content and settings from the device, how can i do that?
Edit: I searched on Google and found a post on CNET, saying a factory reset is not secure enough and the data is still accessible by tools. I followed the tutorial on that post to erase content and settings first with an data cleaning app, then do a factory reset. This should be enough and there is no way to recover any data from the iPhone.

Back up your device.
Tap Settings > iCloud. ...
Tap Sign Out again, then tap Delete from My iPhone and enter your password.
Go back to Settings and tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings*. ...
If asked for your device passcode or Restrictions passcode, enter it. |
