I found a job description posted June 5 for a program manager for Microsoft's Cloud PC team on the company's careers site. The description of Cloud PC isn't super-detailed -- or surprising to anyone following Micros

Lol like companies give a shit. You don't like it find another job. These days companies will skimp and save to make their bosses happy and investors. I'm sorry to say but you get less to get your job done. Companies will do this kinda shit and they don't care about your feelings. Times have changed and continue to change. Their are many benefits for a company to go this way. Money, infrastructure, support to name a few.
Just like your test machines turned into VM's so shall your work PC. |

IMHO, test PCs are ok as VMs.
I am inclined to say, they are better off as VMs - if you break something you can just go back to a snapshot real quick.
I know what you are saying but people who need to be productive can't use the thin junk.
Thin junk is for people who can wait and do not perform critical work. |

Yup, but that's just one example.
A thin client is something I would recommend for grandma and grandpa.
They are not in a rush and they don't need to do any productive work. |
