WTF!!!
Yea, I would love to play this gem again, I have the old game set up on my steam deck and I still play it and enjoying it so I would like to see a remaster.

BUT, WHAT THE F!!!! Is it with all these rematers? Its like nobody has any brains anymore and cant think of anything new.
We used to have about 100 awesome games every year. Now we are lucky to have 5 really good ones, 1 awesome one. and some good ones to make up the top 10. Then we have 10,000 crap games.

What needs to happen is the big companies, Micro$oft and $ony NEED to stop buying all the dev companies and those small companies need to get together, put their budgets together and make a few awesome games.

10 awesome games is better than 10,000 shit ones.
They will make a LOT more money from 10 awesome games than the total revenue from 10,000 crap ones.

This nightdive studio, the ones behind all these remakes will be making millions off others great work.
So this is another money grab.
And the prices.... THINK PEOPLE. ITS STILL A what 20 year old game so WHY would you pay full price for an old game?
Look at the new metal gear solid snake eater. its $100aud. WTF!!! Forza horizon 5 on PS5 is cheaper and thats brand new, MGS is MANY years old and its more expensive and just a remaster.

THINK people. This shit happens because you pay for it.
If your like me and dont like it, DONT BUY IT. WAIT and it'll be on sale soon so get ie when its 10% of what they are charging at launch.
Go get the original game and enjoy that now. The remake will come out, your still enjoying the original. Then when its on sale THEN get the remake. That;ll be the smart way to get games, thats what I do. I have thousands of games, absolute thousands. I've played them all. (43 years gamer, not my age, how long I've been gaming) so YES I have got them all and played them all.
The smart way is to wait till its on sale. THAT sends a VERY strong message to the companies games are too expensive.
Think about it. If nobody buys a game at launch, they will drop the prices. If you waited till its under 50% then thats what the new price will be for new games.
If we all get together and do that watch the price drop dramatically.

Nightdive Studios acquired the rights in January 2020 and announced the project in September 2020 (originally planned for 2021). It was initially a collaboration involving 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks, but after multiple delays (including a pause around 2023 due to other priorities), Nightdive took primary control and re-announced it in March 2026 for a later-2026 release on PC (Steam/Epic), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The game was rebuilt and optimized using Nightdive’s proprietary KEX Engine (the same one used for their other remasters like System Shock and Turok). It is not a basic port but a comprehensive overhaul that includes:

Remastered HD textures, models, lighting, and 2D/UI elements (up to 4K resolution at 144 FPS with anti-aliasing).

Modernized controls, user interface, and widescreen/ultrawide support (plus full controller support).

Improved maps, rebalanced gameplay, bug fixes, restored/uncensored assets, and quality-of-life features.

The ability to toggle between the new remastered visuals and the original SiN Gold look.

Inclusion of the full Wages of Sin mission pack expansion.

New achievements and remastered higher-resolution soundtrack tracks.

It retains the original story, interactivity (hacking, vehicles, branching paths, disarming enemies), and cult-classic feel while making it playable on modern hardware.

No public information or budget figures have been disclosed by Nightdive Studios, 3D Realms, Atari, or any official sources. Nightdive specializes in lean-budget remasters with relatively small teams, so the cost is expected to be modest (likely in the low millions of USD or less), but this is purely speculative....
