The figure comes from threat intelligence firm Intorqa, which put cheat subscriptions across 15 games at roughly $3.5 billion and a wider market of account sales, boosting, and spoofing tools at about $8.5 billion.

These are the results of the achievement systems and competitive gaming.
People measure each other with "did you get that done"?
If not, you suck, you are garbage.
So, people are willing to pay for these to present themselves better than what they really are - no matter the cost or the risk.
It's a sad world, I am telling you.
I grew up in a world where we enjoyed games.
I still do.
Activision should enable cheats in their games so people would not have to pay for them. Most games come with built-in cheats that work only in single-player.
Nothing wrong with that. |

competitive multiplayer has ruined multiplayer.
I played Quake 2 and Unreal Tournament and had so much fun. that was before competitive multiplayer. When I was playing Quake 2 they introduced the leaderboards and it started to suck thats why I moved to Unreal Tournament. That had a leaderboard but we ignored it nad just had fun.
Even in Quake 2 it was just fun and enjoyable.
I tried the MW4 test, it wasnt even multiplayer but gives the same result. I loaded up the game, took 2 steps and died.
WTF!
That usually happens in multiplayer COD not singleplayer. So I deleted it, wont get it and went and played an enjoyable game instead.
Games are meant to be fun. If your forced to cheat as its not fun then that game failed at its core objective. Be fun and enjoyable.
So, ita a lot better to not use cheats but if you have too, you have no choice.
WeMod/Wand is the goto system for now. It works great if you run the patched version. I dont pay for free things and cheats should ALWAYS be free. As someone else said, cheats were and sometimes still are built into the game so WHY pay for whats already there? Thats like DLC, its part of the game so it should be in the game not locked behind a paywall. Thats just wrong. The whole gaming industry is wrong in its current state.
Games have like 5 different versions from basic which is about 60% of the game. You'll get through the campaign fine. Then the next about 70%, you can get the extra story so you can finish the campaign and underastand the story thist time. Then so on until the bull game with everything. That usually takes an extra 6 months as they call it DLC but its just delayed part of the game they force you to pay more for it and wait.
then cheaters, they make you pay for what is free and should always be free. Same as piracy, that should ALWAYS be free. That way your not liable for lawsuits. If its free it can be classed as a backup. If you paid thats subject to criminal lawsuits and jail. (stupid, going to jail over something thats not real. piracy is 99.9% digital, NOT REAL. so how can you go to jail for sometihng that doesnt exist in the first place?
So keep it free, they cant sue you for nothing. Free means no lawsuit. Cant get money out of nothing.
I cheat in pretty much all games. I am a singleplayer only gamer. I DONT CARE what you think, Im there to enjoy my games and I do enjoy them. If I hate the game I cheat to finish it quicker. If I like it I cheat to get the weapons faster and not die to have more fun. I dont want to worry about dying or losing water or whatever. remove the stress and just enjoy the game.
competitive multiplayer cheating. Thats the lowest of the low. You deserve to get banned not just from the game but your hardware should be flagged so you cant play in ANY multiplayer game.
Like a console ban.
F! U! A-HOLES for ruining multiplayer. its already ruined my competitive multiplayer but its full of anti-cheat which can ruin a computer and cause so many problems all because you cheat in multiplayer games.
No cheating in multiplayer means no anti cheat systems ruining PCs.
You are the scum of the gaming industry. Yea, the devs ruin it by forcing multi tier purchasing and cutting up the game into DLC but your still the scum for cheating in multiplayer.
Cheats belong in singleplayer. Some people suck at games and need cheats to help them. games these days just suck and too hard so cheats are needed. Dark souls is a perfect example. You start at level 1 but your enemied are level 3000 so no chance to live. So after dying 13 times in the first 5 mins you need cheats to find any enjoyment in those games.
I just dont play them. Games are meant to be fin so when a game is forcing you to use cheats, its no longer fun and just not worth playing.
I've been a gamer for 42 years. I've seen it go from great to absuluse crap where it is now,
I wrote a few cheats and patches. I;ve modded many games. I've got some games working where the devs said it wont. (Postal 3 on steam deck BEFORE they patched it themselves) |
