NVIDIA has recently posted a new video highlighting the gaming performance difference between the Geforce RTX 3080 GPU and the RTX 2080 Ti at 4K resolution. They used DOOM ETERNAL which was running in Ultra Nightmare settings, and the RTX 3080 easily outperforms the RTX 2080 Ti by a fair margin.
Both the GeForce RTX

2080Ti could not do 4K at 60FPS.
How can they expect the 3080Ti with only 55-70% more performance render 8k content at 60FPS?
I feel someone's lying. |

The RTX 3090 is what they are touting as 8k worthy. It has 10496 CUDA cores, GDDR6X 384-bit mem vs. the 2080 Ti's 4352 CUDA cores and 352-bit mem.
Also for a GDDR6X and GDDR6 comparison this article is useful https://graphicscardhub.com/gddr5-vs-gddr5x-vs-hbm-vs-hbm2/
I'm definitely itching for some extensive real world bench comparisons.
Nvidia is less of a money grabber this time round because they're not shafting users who want 2080 Ti performance and diluting the market with marginal upgrades... I mean, a card that is only $499 for that purpose is amazing. This seems to be a worthy upgrade compared to the bullshit they pulled off with the RTX 20xx range. |

So, what does that mean?
It can do 8k at 10FPS?
That's not what I'd call worthy.
As you said though, let's see some real-world benchmarks. |

Yep, until there are benchmarks I would take everything you hear with a pinch of salt. Naturally Nvidia are going to hype the f$%@ out of their own products. |
