I went to EB the other day to pickup SWAT 4. I had the free version.. cough cough but accidentally deleted it. Since I'm such a nice guy I went to buy the game. EB told me the game is discontinued! LOL!!!! I said, discontinued??? How is that possible?. Guy said he has no clue but I guess they aren't shipping it anymore! Uh huh. I was actually sitting there thinking, omg, did the game do that badly that they stopped shipping it? Thinking EB was full of it and just making things up, I picked it up at Walmart for $5 less than EB had it for. Discontinued, now that's funny.
Oh and PS. If u r trading-in games. EB is not telling you the whole story. They are actually being real pricks here. The gaming industry/Epic mentioned that stores like EB are pushing previously owned games before new ones. This is not a good thing. But, now you go into EB games and they now want a 'box' included with your disc and manual. So it seems to "me" EB is playing really stupid games with people and the game companies perhaps trying to fool gamers to think they are getting a 'new' game as opposed to a 'used' game. be careful when you buy from EB now, they could be selling you someone trade-in and that person could be using the key still after making a backup. It's happened to me going to EB and buying previously owned game. Don't do it. Get a real copy. |

Sucks hard for me because a few weeks ago, I through out the Eiffel Tower of game boxes as I've never needed em but something strange about collecting them. So now I'm stuck with games I wont play, no game boxes... fantastic. Again, EB will tell you its a requirement from game makers but it's only half true. I like EB, don't get me wrong, but I hate being kind of lied to. Game makers prefer to have 'new' games sold first then 'old'. EB I guess is thinking customer first. Well here's some info against their theory.
- I have doom3. It claims someone has my key. I bought it used, saved $15 which was good cuz i got turned off single player only to take it up later and try out the MP. That's when I found my key was in use.
- Far Cry, ya I play it sometimes. Well recently it too is now saying my key is in use.
- Ravenshield, same thing.
Moral of the story. Just because you buy used and you get a box etc, don't think that some schmuck who had it before isn't playing with your key and has an illegal copy of the same disc.
I even took my no-cd's out and put back the proper .exe and still says it so it has nothing to do with validating the cd.
Just really pisses me off. |
