Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords [NDS]
Alternate ending sequence:
Free the Sorcerer that Darkhunter asks you to take to the Red Tower towards the beginning of the game to unlock three new areas at the end of the game.
Easy HP hint:
Create a knight and train it to level 40 with a high fire mastery, which can be increased by getting some special items, such as Rune Items. Make sure you can hold at least 48 Fire Mana. Capure a Fire Elemental and research the spell "Fire Siphon". The spell Chivalry is also required. You can learn it at level 40. Choose those two spells so that you can cast them. Start a battle and check the resistance of your enemy. It is best if their resistance is 0%. First, cast Chivalry. It will remove effects such as like Poison and will raise your and your enemy's mana to the maximum. In your next turn cast Fire Siphon. This will drain your enemy's red mana and add it to your life points (not your maximum life points).
General hints:
Spells
1.The best spells to learn from an enemy are those that have low Mana requirements to cast, as their casting cost increases for you when you learn them.
2.Spells that transform gems from one type to another are great spells to learn and are very useful. These let you generate 4-of-a-kinds when the board sets up in certain patterns. Examples include the Imp's Burn spell and the Frost Giant's Freeze spell.
3.If you are not playing a Druid and would like to get some cheap healing (and you don’t want to waste a slot on a Troll Ring), learning Regeneration from the Troll is a great use of Blue Mana that might otherwise go to waste. It is not the cheapest spell to cast, but it doesn’t end your turn (unless your enemy Resists Magic).
Skills
1.Avoid spending your Leveling-up skill points on skills that cost 3+ points to increase. Buy these skills from the Temple instead.
2.Spend most of your Leveling-up skill points on skills that cost 1 point to increase. Specialization in a couple skills only is the key.
3.The Cunning skill, which determines who goes first, is an important skill to increase, either via the Temple, or from Leveling-up. If monsters seem to be taking the first turn most of the time, it is time to increase your Cunning skill.
Mounts
1.Get a Giant Rat mount as it is easy to beat in the training game, and at a high Level it will allow you to avoid road monsters. It.adds a valuable Cunning bonus in combats, and it moves slowly so cities have time to generate monthly gold income.
2.When training a mount at high Levels (timer is 4 seconds or less), it is recommended to just put on a Mirror Helm, Mirror Shield and Mirror Armor. This will allow you to damage the mount when you match Skulls, or when the mount matches Skulls against you.
